| They weren't "scratch 'n dent" because there are no scratch n dent. Scratch n dent means Ash needs money so he calls it scratch n dent as not to piss off the one guy left that writes him a fat check every so often (Greg). They have an agreement that Ash is to keep the price high on his end so that Greg can push more product on his end taking the customer service BS out of Ash's hands (smart). However, because Ash is terrible at handling money, every so often he finds himself in a pinch and decides he needs to take a couple of those sales from Greg, but doesn't want to piss him off. So, what does he do? Calls them a scratch n dent. How many posts have you seen where people says "hey, I got a scratch n dent from Ash but they look brand new!" There's a pretty good reason for that and I just laid it out for you. How do I know this? Because it was usually my paycheck that was the reason for needing to do a scratch n dent. What you all should be thinking about (rather than Mike's immaturity) is why would Ash sell those brand new pipes for such a low price? Answer: Because he's ripping you off from the start, poor Greg being one being taken advantage of the worst. Once again... how would I know this? Because I'm the one that drew up the patterns to send off to China and was the first to get wide eyed when I received the email telling me the price of the finished product. the end
